WV Division of Tobacco Prevention Grant Opportunity

The West Virginia Bureau for Public Health’s (WVBPH) Division of Tobacco Prevention (DTP) is requesting applications for lead agencies for regional grants to reduce (1) the high prevalence of tobacco addiction and use in West Virginia, (2) youth initiation of tobacco use, and (3) the high rates of disease, disability, and death related to tobacco use by West Virginians.

The lead agency must be located within the applicant's region, and the winning agency is expected to retain the existing Regional Tobacco Prevention Coordinator from each region. Funding for up to 10 regional projects may be available under this announcement:

Region A - Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Ohio, Tyler, and Wetzel

Region B - Doddridge, Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, and Taylor

Region C - Berkeley, Hampshire, Jefferson, Mineral, and Morgan

Region D - Grant, Hardy, Pendleton, Randolph, and Tucker

Region E - Barbour, Braxton, Gilmer, Lewis, and Upshur

Region F - Calhoun, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, and Wood

Region G - Boone, Clay, Jackson, Kanawha, and Putnam

Region H - Fayette, Greenbrier, Nicholas, Pocahontas, and Webster

Region I - Cabell, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, Mingo, and Wayne

Region J - McDowell, Mercer, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers and, Wyoming
